  1. Where do you currently reside and paint?  I live in Seoul, South Korea.
  2. At what age did you start painting? And how did it all start?  I started painting when I was about 7 years old. I do not remember exactly, but it seems to have been when I accidentally grabbed a pencil.

Do you remember the first piece of art that captured your imagination?  First time I saw paintings by Egon Schiele, I was amazed and amazed.

 

  1. Are you trying to send a message through your art or is it purely for inspiration?  I would like people who see my work to think about life and have a little more romance. I wish they are happier by seeing my work.
  2. What makes you decide a painting is finished?  There is nothing to determine the end. If what I have drawn is enough to convey the story I want to express, then I think it is finished. Till then I keep drawing.
  3. How do you choose the colors in your paintings?  I improvise using colors. I pick colors that are emotionally attractive in an instant.
  4. What kind of art hangs on the walls of your home?  There are many things hanging on the walls at my house. Illustrations from Korean artists, as well as various photographs and articles.  Art work that inspire me.
  5. Do you listen to music whilst creating, if so what genre?  I always play music when I work. Indie music, Jazz, Hip-Hop. I love many genres of music.
  6. If you could have dinner with three artists living or dead, who would be at your table?  Leonardo Da Vinci, Marcel Duchamp, Damien Hirst.
  7. Three things you can’t live without in your studio?  Cat, coffee and stories(with my friends.)
  8. Do you have a place/person or thing that you visit for inspiration?  Streets, cafes which I frequent, places with lots of people walking. Conversation with friends, items I love and all of life.
  9. How would someone find you on social media (i.e.Instagram or Facebook)?  I am on Instagram @qwaya__
