Interview by Jimon
.Where do you currently reside and work? I live and work in a little country near Vicenza, Italy.
.How would you describe Clem Alce? I can't do it, maybe I create art so that someone can do it.
.What type of name is Clem Alce? It is one of those names composed half of the seriousness and the other half of the non sense. Possibly the best way to describe myself.
.How long have you been making art and what lead you to start? As long as I remember, immediately after learning to walk I believe.
.Did you attend an art school if yes, which one? I attended the academy of fine arts in Venice, Italy.
.How did you acquire your style? My method is to take everything and then analyze it. Being in contact with many different things I don't consider style. Because sometimes style can become a limit to one's expression and the art has none.
.Is there any reality behind the characters in your illustrations? Most of the characters I represent are subjects that take a role in the artwork to express a concept. Representing what surrounds me and my life, the protagonist of many adventures is just me, often with a smiling yellow face.
.Do you draw a line between art and graphic design? or is it all the same? I believe that art can express itself through graphic design, but not all graphic design is art. Art is much bigger and absolute.
.What’s the best advice you’ve ever received in regards to your art? The best advice was probably the one that convinced me to share my art with others.
.What other types of art interests you? I am passionate about any type of art. But in first place I put music and cinema, the things I'm most addicted to.
.How do you define success? I define it just as the dictionary defines it, a good result of something done!
.How would you like to be seen as an artist years from now? An artist who more or less understood what makes you feel emotions.
.Do you have a place/person/thing that you visit for inspiration? Yes any place, person or thing.
.If you could have dinner with 3 artists living/dead who would be at your table? Magritte, Goya and Damian Hirst.
.Name three things you can’t live without in your studio? Music, a sheet and a pencil.
.How would someone find you on Social Media? www.facebook.com/clem.alce and www.instagram.com/clem_alce
